I want to wish everyone a very Happy Easter!!! I hope that this day is one filled with love and happiness and that you have time to reflect on the gifts that surround you each and every day. Whether you celebrate the religious aspects of the holiday, the secular, both or not at all, I believe there is a lot to be thankful for.
Today’s blog will not be as full of information as I hoped it would be because I spent many hours at the veterinarian’s office but I am thankful that the problem wasn’t serious and that my beautiful, wonderful puppy is home with me tonight (she has a urinary tract infection and will be fine!), that my boyfriend was there by my side and just as concerned about her as I was, that I got to enjoy a little bit of the beautiful day before we encountered any problems and that I have people, like you, reading the blog and interested in giving the people in their(your) life thoughtful, personal presents. There is even more in my life that I am thankful for but let me get on to other topics…
But first, let me post a link to the pet insurance that lets me sleep a little easier at night knowing that no matter my financial situation, I can give my pup the care that she deserves. Thankfully, she is normally really healthy but I use VPI and it pays for itself with just the peace of mind that I get, never mind the fact that their coverage is terrific. They were recommended by my vet and I have been very happy to be a customer. Hopefully I never need them for anything serious but, knowing that it is there, just in case, is really great – in fact, it seems a lot like a gift.
Now I would like to give you something fun to do on this day! I found this amazing website called Bakerella and am just in love with the detailed, fun things that she makes. I really love these cake pops and there are instructions and pictures galore! There are of course great Easter cake pops (she made so many varieties – one is just more adorable than the next so be sure to check out the rest of her blog) and all sorts of other wonderful, beautiful creations. I’m both fascinated and intimidated by her blog at the same time. She’s so good that she has been on the Martha Stewart show. I’m going to have to try some of her recipes and let you guys know which ones are the best (and can be made by your average guy or gal and not a baking guru) for gift giving but I can’t imagine any recipient being disappointed with something that turns out even half as well as Bakerella’s finished products and they will definitely appreciate the effort!
