If you want to get your mom or spouse flowers for Mother’s Day, keep a few key things in mind.
- Get her favorite flower or a mixture of flowers that incldudes her favorite – if you don’t know what it is, find out now.
- Only get her flowers if you know she loves them. It is a bad idea to get her flowers if you get them just because you don’t know what else to get her. If you are having trouble coming up with ideas, read other posts on the blog, do a search on the internet with something she loves as the keyword or contact me (advice@thegiftdetective.com). Put some thought and energy into it to show her that you care!
- Don’t wait until the last minute. Really. It is too easy to procrastinate and then time has a way of sneaking up on you so that you’ve missed the deadline for ordering altogether. If flowers are the route you want to take, order them now. I’ll even include some links above and below to make it painless for you.
- Don’t just give her the card that comes with the bouquet. Go to the trouble of buying a separate card that expresses your feelings well or find a beautiful blank card and fill that with your thoughts.
- Do it with love! Whatever you decide to get her, as long as you put some love and energy into it, it will have impact, no matter if you’ve given her the perfect present or not. I interviewed some mothers and the best presents weren’t necessarily things that they were able to use or even liked very much but things that their children put time into and made for them. Even if you’re all grown up, she’ll appreciate the time and effort you put into something.
Happy gifting!
