This is a great gift for your friends who own dogs. If you don’t own a dog, you know what we dog owners are like…we arrange our day around our canine companions – bathroom breaks, grooming, exercising and entertaining our dogs, training, arranging play-dates, making trips to the dog park, finding dog friendly vacation spots, buying endless amounts of toys and treats…non-dog owners may think we spoil our pooches but the fact is, our dogs make us so happy it is our way of giving thanks to them! Cooking4Canines ($19.99) will make a great gift for this person in your life! Want add a special touch to this gift? Add a set of cute cookie cutters that include a fire hydrant, squirrel and dog bone!
This is a great gift you can “give” your dog! If you own a dog, you know what it is like – you would do just about anything to make your dog happy…even cook for them! Amy even has the cookbook available for download as an e-book ($12.99), so you can save some resources, get your book virtually instantly and a portion of your e-book sale will be donated to a charity. (I love gifts that give more!) You might not know how much onion (bad for dogs!) is in the “doggy bag” you brought home from the restaurant but you know the exact ingredients that are going into the treat that you make from the Cooking4Canines cookbook. Check out a sample recipe here!
In fact, I think this is such a fabulous gift that I am giving a copy of Cooking4Canines away to one lucky reader!!!

I love the idea of a canine cookbook! I’m not much of a cook myself but my step-mom used to regularly make homemade dog food for her 2 dogs and still does on occasion so I bet she would get a kick out of this book!
I used to work at our local Humane Society and we had a Pet Bistro that we made hundreds of homemade goodies for the dogs and cats and they sold like hotcakes! I still cook for my brood, too. New recipes are always fun-for both animal and human!
@djacobs721 – I’m going to be doing a follow-up post since I’ve now made five of the recipes…the recipes are so simple and Isabelle has LOVED them…as did all the dogs that sampled my offerings from what I could tell.
@Charyl – This is my first time really cooking for Isabelle – I’ve added carrots or other yummy things to her dog food before but thought it would be a lot of work to cook something for her – I’m hooked now. I think it is a terrific idea for the humane society to raise funds!
