This post is mainly for a free (pretty frugal, eh?) event in Arlington, MA to benefit homeless pets.

Don’t live in the Boston area but still want to give a gift? Please consider dropping off some of the suggested items (list below) at your local shelter, making a donation to the ASPCA or, if this just isn’t your cup o’tea and you need a birthday, Valentine’s, housewarming or some other type of present, visit one of my older posts for some great gift ideas or hire me for special sleuthing services! (Pssst! Valentine’s Day will be here before you know it!!!)

Helping Hands for Homeless Pets is a New Year’s party and donation drop off, where a simple donation of something you probably already have kicking around your house (see below for examples) will be the only gift you need to bring to this party! The party will be held at Bette Yip’s training and photography studio in Arlington, MA – all details are on Bette’s website but I am also including a list of some items that would be thoroughly appreciated as donated gifts at the end of this post.

Don’t know who Bette is? Bette Yip is an amazing Certified Pet Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) – which, if I had to translate, means that she is practiced, patient and positive in her teaching with both her canine and human students. I can vouch for Bette myself because she helped train, Isabelle, my Service Dog!

As if being a CPDT-KA weren’t enough talent, Bette is also an amazing photographer – if you live in the area, you should check out her photography services as well. (hint: great gift ideas!)
