Ah, Xootr, how I love thee…so much so that it is now

I wrote about the Xootr before I had one. I’ve got a good eye for gifts, but I only “Gift Detective APPROVE!” things that I’ve tried. I received a Xootr Mg as a birthday present last year so I know, without a doubt that it makes a great gift. I really missed my Xootr all winter while I actually had to, *gasp*, walk in the snow and the slush instead of Xoot along to my every destination.

But now Spring has arrived and fairer weather is finally upon us and I took out my Xootr today and I rode with the wind in my face and Isabelle running at my side. It was great! We had so much fun, not to mention, we got quite a bit of exercise.

So, you may be thinking to yourself that a kick scooter seems a tad, well, childish is the word that might have crossed your mind. Am I right? I assure you it’s not. The Xootr is a machine definitely designed to carry adults. From the construction (solid) to the looks of their various models (sophisticated, perhaps even sexy), the Xootr is 100% adult scooter. It almost doesn’t seem like the words “adult” and “scooter” could possibly go together but Xootr makes it possible.

You would think that all this talk about Xootrs being so great for us grown-ups that we had exclusive rights to them or something. Not so! Any kid on your gift list would love a Xootr and the height of the handle bar is easily adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of individuals, young or old.

A lot of people ask me where I’ve purchased it and want all sorts of details when I stop at the park with Isabelle or am locking it up before heading into the store. As I’m flying by people I get looks of delight mixed with envy. They want one. It is clear that I’m having a hell of a lot of fun when I’m out on my Xootr and this turns heads.

Some of my favorite things about the Xootr:

• * I feel safe – it is so solidly built and is light enough to carry with ease but heavy enough to ride the road without feeling like you are going to go flying off at any given moment. It comes with a front, hand activated brake and for a mere $10 you can add a fender/brake (stomp, rear brake) kit too. Feeling unsafe at any moment? Simply step off!
• * It has a low deck – to make kicking more efficient.
• * It has a wide deck – helpful for the balance-challenged (klutzes) like me!
• * I get great exercise, while having a blast, while giving Isabelle a great workout, while saving time!

You can add a Crossrack with or without the Xootr cargo bag so that you can carry extra stuff. I don’t have a car, so having the Crossrack and cargo bag make my life so much easier when it comes to hauling groceries home.
