A reader was searching for gifts for volunteers and I thought this was a nice challenge for Sleuthing Sunday.
The difficult thing about getting gifts for volunteers is that you want the gift to be meaningful for a group of people and still be budget friendly. I think the most difficult aspect of this equation is definitely finding a gift that pleases a group of people instead of each individual personality – and you certainly don’t want to single people out and give people different gifts because it could lead to all sorts of problems nor does it make the group feel like a whole, which is what you really want.
I think the best way to find the perfect gift for a group is to focus on the commonality – what does this group of volunteers do? Think about gifts related to the work they do and you are sure to find something that has meaning to each and every one of them. They all volunteer for something that is important to them and a gift related to that part of their life will surely be treasured and valued.
Sometimes volunteers work closely together and form social bonds as well. If this is the case with your group of volunteers maybe a gift that is a nice photo of the group framed nicely would work well.
To sum it up, keep it relevant to the group and you’ll come up with a great gift!
