The holidays have a way of seemingly approaching at light speed instead of one day at a time like everything else. Perhaps it is because the days actually seem shorter since it gets dark earlier? But, despite the onset of darkness, we still have plenty of time to prepare for the holidays.
Make your list and check it twice! This will make preparing for the holidays so much less stressful. Be reasonable – you don’t have to spend a lot of money or buy a lot of gifts to embrace the spirit of the holidays.

I keep seeing this old ad from Christmas (weird, yes?) for a store that wants you to buy their gift cards to “Take the guesswork out of giving.” Not only are Christmas commercials irrelevant now that we are well into January, I also think it is a shame that we are actually urged to not think about what we are giving people anymore. Really. My New Year’s resolution? To help people give great gifts. Thoughtful gifts. Gifts that make her eyes light up or his face flush with excitement. Making gift giving personal again.
