A Prayer for Owen Meany
This is one of my favorite books and I find that when I connect with or care about someone, I occasionally like to give this as a present. Why? Because part of gift giving is giving something of yourself. When you care about someone you want to have some shared experiences and interests in common. It is only natural for us to talk about the things that shape us, interest us and/or provoke us, both the positive and the negative. So the next time you are feeling a bit at a loss as to what to give that special someone for a present, it’s okay to to give them something that you love, as long as it is something that you can imagine them liking and make sure to explain why you chose that gift for them.
