My upcoming trip to Santa Fe has me thinking about all things travel related and, with Toy Tuesday being a regular feature, I wanted to think of a great travel toy or game.
The problem I encountered while I was brainstorming was that I wanted something that could encompass different ages, packed light, could be done no matter the form of travel (for instance, Bananagrams is portable and anybody who can spell can play, but do you see playing this with your kids in the car or on a plane?) and didn’t have pieces to lose. At this point, you might be thinking, “Gee whiz, Alyna, good luck coming up with something…”, right?

This homemade Foxy Valentine is a super cute way to let someone know you think they are foxy! It is easy, inexpensive and creative.
Something like this can be made even more personal by customizing the label – for instance, with your Valentine’s name – or leaving something special inside. The something special need not be expensive either (though it would probably come as quite a surprise it was!); a love note, a memento of some special time together, your Valentine’s favorite candy or whatever else you choose. The other night my boyfriend’s father told me a great gift giving story that I am going to share here, since I think it illustrates the idea of a symbolic gift perfectly.
