Great time, thought and effort went into the process. One would reflect on the recipient’s personality, lifestyle, character, and then spend days if not weeks looking for the one perfect gift that would reveal how much they thought of the person. St. Patrick’s Day is less about gifts and more about having a rousing good time. St. Patrick’s Day is a celebration for those of Irish descent and this is key for gift giving because those Irish folk you care about are Irish all year ’round – not just on St. Patrick’s Day (though there will be a few who don “Kiss Me, I’m Irish” t-shirts who don’t have a drop of Irish in them!).
