
Recently, the last episode of Monk aired. It was a sad day for me since it was one of my go-to shows. When you love a show like that, even a “bad” episode is a good episode.

It was bittersweet for me to watch it because, although I knew that they would wrap things up pretty nicely so that viewers would see Monk in a happier, more functional place – that of course is a nice way to resolve the series of “the defective detective” – it was also “The End”.
So, this is my salute to Monk – the writers, the actors, the viewers that kept it coming back season after season. It was a great show that was often silly, sweet and suspenseful and I’ll miss it!

By now, it’s no secret that I love mysteries. How appropriate then that my 200th post is about a mystery!!!
As soon as Sue Grafton’s newest book, U is for Undertow, was available for pre-order via Amazon, I was counting down the days until December 1st.
I received the book just in time to have reading material while on a brief vacation to the South, and packed it in my carry-on so that I could delve into it on the plane.
Grafton didn’t disappoint! I’ve read every Kinsey Millhone mystery she has written and it was classic Kinsey. I love the way she connects the books – you always know that she is going to talk about Kinsey’s studio and compare it to a boat, will always mention the indestructible …read more
